Date: July 26, 2006 11:45:40 AM CEST
Nicola Talbot has uploaded a new version of the glossary package: The package supports generation of a glossary with makeindex. It has a certain amount of flexibility allowing the user to customize the format of the glossary and define new glossary-style objects so that you can have more than one type of glossary in your document. > Announcement text given by the package's contributor: > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Version 2.4: > > Fixed problems caused by \@sanitize (\storeglosentry is now robust). > > Extended package option "number" to be used with any counter (not > just page or section). > > Added number key to \setglossarystyle. > > Removed some redundant code. > > Fixed problems caused with hyperlinks when using a mixture of > counters for individual entries. > > Added extra \hyper<xx> page formats. > > Added hook to provide a sub header when using a tabular style glossary. > > Added means of specifying a column header for page list column. > > Added facility to insert text between groups. > > Fixed bug in documentation when omitting \OnlyDescription > > *** Note that if you update to version 2.4, it *** > *** is advisable to delete your .gls etc files *** > *** before recompiling. *** i've installed the new version on top of the existing one at ctan macros/latex/contrib/glossary, and i've updated the catalogue. thanks for the upload. glossary – Create a glossary

The package supports generation of a glossary with makeindex. It has a certain amount of flexibility allowing the user to customize the format of the glossary and define new glossary-style objects so that you can have more than one type of glossary in your document.

The package is no longer supported; the author urges users to switch to use of its replacement, the glossaries package. Migration support is available, within the newer package.
