CTAN Update: hrefhide

Date: April 29, 2011 6:57:40 PM CEST
On Fri, 29 Apr 2011 H.-Martin Münch submitted an update to the hrefhide package. Summary description: "hiding" hyperrefs when printing; switching ocgcolor on/off License type: lppl Announcement text:
New in 1.0f: - now works with all types of links supported by hyperref's ocgcolorlinks: citations, page references, URLs, local file references, and "other links"-type. - ocgcolorlinks can be switched on and off (at least the appearance of the links, e.g. the no-break-restriction for the links when using ocgcolorlinks still holds).
This package is located at http://mirror.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/hrefhide/ . More information is at http://www.ctan.org/pkg/hrefhide (if the package is new it may take a day for that information to appear). We are supported by the TeX Users Group http://www.tug.org . Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Rainer Schöpf

hrefhide – Suppress hyper links when printing

This package provides the command \hrefdisplayonly (additionally to \href provided by the hyperref package). While the (hyperlinked) text appears like an ordinary \href in the compiled pdf-file, the same text will be “hidden” when printing the text. Hiding is actually achieved by making the text the same colour as the background, thus preserving the layout of the rest of the text.

Further the commands \hycon and \hycoff (hyper-colour-on/off) can be used to simulate switching option ocgcolorlinks of the hyperref package on and off.

This package is possibly obsolete, see section 3: “Alternatives” in the documentation.
