This dvipdfmx.def supports a new option [pagebox=artbox, etc.], in PDF inclusion, like that in pdflatex, in [p|up]latex with the driver dvipdfmx. It requires new dvipdfmx, which will be available in TeX Live 2016. Interested users may build new dvipdfmx by using new sources in the TeX Live repository. If the new option is not used, the dvipdfmx.def is compatible with the dvipdfmx in TeX Live 2015.

dvipdfmx-def – Configuration file for dvipdfmx graphics
This is the graphics driver for use when output is to be processed by dvipdfmx.
It is now distributed as part of the graphics-def bundle.
