As of June 2003, the directory languages/spanish has suffered a major overhaul. Until now, it had several hyphenation files, most of them wrong. In addition, the ispell dictionary in that directory was not maintained any more and a much better and up-to-date one is available on: http://www.datsi.fi.upm.es/~coes/ The old FAQ has been removed, too, since a new one is available on CTAN:help/es-tex-faq/ Regarding hyphenation files, read hyphen/README. Note the folder contains a directory named "nonstandard". It in turn contains: - A set of very basic hyphenation rules which does not follow (despite its claims) the rules by the Spanish Academy. - An alternateve localization for Mexico, by Luis Rivera. They are supported by their authors and any complaint about them should be addressed to them and not to CervanTeX. 2008-08-30 _____________________________________________________________ Javier Bezos | http://www.cervantex.es/ .............................................................
