The Hershey fonts were developed by the US government, and are freely available. The present bundle shows the outcome of some work on making the fonts usable as system fonts, with a view (eventually) to their use in typesetting programs.
The directory contains a number of Metafont sources, but not all will actually compile.
This package is not available from either major free distribution, MiKTeX or TeX Live.
