la­tex209 – Old, un­sup­ported, LaTeX

The dis­tri­bu­tion of LaTeX 2.09 was last up­dated in 1993. A copy is kept for its pos­si­ble his­tor­i­cal in­ter­est: it is not rec­om­mended for cur­rent use—all cur­rent dis­tri­bu­tions pro­vide LaTeX 2e (now known sim­ply as ‘LaTeX’. Bug fixes, when they arise, are ap­plied to cur­rent LaTeX, not to LaTeX 2.09.
A large num­ber of pack­ages were con­tributed for use with LaTeX 2.09, and while many have been dis­carded or con­verted for use with cur­rent LaTeX, a sig­nif­i­cant num­ber await clas­si­fi­ca­tion.
