symbolindex – Generate a list of symbols with different subgroups

This ex­ten­sion can be used re­gard­less of the plat­form.
It de­fines a new com­mand \addsym­bol[group]{sym­bol}{de­scrip­tion} and the list of the sym­bols sorted by groups and sym­bols can be shown with \listof­sym­bols The pro­gram makesym (source, and DOS ex­e­cutable pro­vided), is used to pro­cess sym­bol de­tails, for sub­se­quent type­set­ting runs.
The in­dex is gen­er­ated with a \listof­sym­bols com­mand.
