This original is provided as Metafont source; an Adobe Type 1 version is available as part of yfonts-t1.
The fonts are encoded somewhat like OT1, but a virtual font, that presents the font as if T1-encoded, is available.
If possible, get this package from your distribution using its installation manager. (For installation help, click on your distribution's name.)
