<h2>TeX Live 2008 - installer packages</h2>

<p>This directory contains a network-based installer and packages for <a
href="http://tug.org/texlive/">TeX Live</a>.  It is <a
href="http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/tlnet/2008/README">mirrored</a>
throughout <a href="http://tug.org/ctan.html">CTAN</a>.

<p>The <a href="http://tug.org/texlive/">TeX Live web pages</a> describe
<a href="http://tug.org/texlive/acquire.html">other ways to acquire the
distribution</a>, <a
href="http://tug.org/texlive/quickinstall.html">quick installation</a>
after obtaining it, <a
href="http://tug.org/texlive/doc.html">documentation</a>, and more.

<p>If you have a complete copy of this directory, including the archive/
and tlpkg/ subdirectories, you can run the unpacked install-tl
(install-tl.bat for Windows) script present here.

<p>The update-tlmgr-latest.sh and .exe archives here are a way to <a
href="http://tug.org/texlive/tlmgr.html#disaster">recover from
tlmgr being completely broken</a>.

<p>As an alternative to this network install, you can use the <a
href="http://mirror.ctan.org/systems/texlive/Images/README">giant ISO
image</a> of the distribution.
