  About Japanese TeX (pTeX: publishing TeX)

 * Japanese TeX (pTeX) has been developed in the aim of providing a TeX
   which can be used for commercial publishing.

 * pTeX adds features related to vertical writing on "Japanese TeX"
   which can handle only horizontal writing. Any bug fixes on Japanization
   will be done on pTeX, not on Japanese TeX.
 * pTeX employs change files of WEB.

 * For installation, please refer to the enclosed INSTALL file.

 * For the usage and distribution of pTeX, please refer to the enclosed
   COPYRIGHT file.

ptex – A sys­tem for pub­lish­ing in Ja­panese

p adds fea­tures re­lated to ver­ti­cal writ­ing, and deals with other prob­lems in type­set­ting Ja­panese. A set of ad­di­tions to a TEXMF tree, for use with p, may be found in pack­age p-texmf.

p is dis­tributed as WEB change files.

A man­ual (in Ja­panese) is dis­tributed as pack­age p-man­ual.
