portland – Simple portrait/landscape switching

The port­land pack­age pro­vides por­trait and land­scape en­vi­ron­ments, that set page di­men­sions but don't pro­vide any hints to out­put de­vices. Thus, while you can some­times read the re­sult­ing text in a pre­viewer, spe­cial mea­sures have to be taken to print the out­put.
The po­ten­tial user will prob­a­bly be bet­ter served by the lscape pack­age (for DVI ori­ented out­put) or pdflscape (if us­ing PDFLaTeX).
