HPtfm2pl is a program for creating TeX PL files from HP AutoFont Support
metric files. HP provides Autofont support files for all of the built-in
printer fonts and all of the cartridges that it sells. If you do not have
autofont support files for your HP product, contact your HP dealer.

The program PLtoTF will create TeX TFM files from PL files. The PLtoTF
program should be part of any complete TeX distribution.

See HPTFM2PL.DOC for more information.

On caveat, the ligature files in this distribution are derived from the
SFPtoPK ligature files. SFPtoPK also remaps characters so these ligature
files are different. They are also wrong if I made any mistakes reading
the symbol set layouts at the back of my PCL III reference manual. Sorry
about that. Please let me know if you think that you have found an
incorrect ligature file.

Let me know if you think anything else is incorrect as well. Heck, you
could even let me know if you think everything _is_ correct! ;-)

                                                  Regards,
                                                    norm
