- To generate "jvlisting.sty" and to create an additional file
  "examples.tex" containing a few examples, you can run the following

    tex jvlisting.ins

  After this step, you can try the examples by running the newly
  created file "examples.tex" through LaTeX:

    latex examples.tex

- For simple installation, just move "jvlisting.sty" in a directory
  where LaTeX can find it. The jvlisting manual is in the file

- The regenerate the manual:

    latex jvlisting.dtx

- A list of test cases which I use for debugging can be found in the
  file "test.tex".

jvlisting – A replacement for LaTeX's verbatim package

This package provides a LaTeX environment listing, an alternative to the built-in verbatim environment. The listing environment is tailored for including listings of computer program source code into documents.

The main advantages over the original verbatim environment are:

  • environments automatically fixes leading whitespace so that the environment and program listing can be indented with the rest of the document source, and;
  • listing environments may easily be customised and extended.
