Summary description: Customising captions in floating environments
License type: lppl
Abstract:
The caption package provides many ways to customise the captions in floating environments like figure and table and cooperates with many other packages.
Changes: - Improvement: \captionsetup within a SCfigure/SCtable is now working - New: \captionsetup[SCfigure/SCtable/longtable/supertabular]{...} - "parindent" and "hangindent" have defaults now (\parindent and 0pt) to avoid conflicts with global options - New: Support of the listings package (1.2), that means \captionsetup[lstlisting]{...} is working now - Improved non-ragged2e support: Only typeout a warning if \RaggedRight is actually used - New option "listof=<boolean>" (for use with the sidecap package) - New subsection in the documentation about incompatible packages - Some minor bugfixes - LPPL 1.3 (author-maintained) ----- End forwarded message ----- Thanks for the upload. I installed it as suggested replacing the previous version in CTAN:macros/latex/contrib/caption Reinhard Zierke for the CTAN team

caption – Customising captions in floating environments
The caption package provides many ways to customise the captions in floating environments like figure and table, and cooperates with many other packages. Facilities include rotating captions, sideways captions, continued captions (for tables or figures that come in several parts). A list of compatibility notes, for other packages, is provided in the documentation.
The package also provides the “caption outside float” facility, in the same way that simpler packages like capt-of do.
The package supersedes caption2.
