A new version of latexmk has been installed on tug.ctan.org and will make its way through the mirroring process in the next day or two. Thanks for the contribution, Jim Hefferon ftpmaint at tug.ctan.org ======================================================= The following information was provided by our fellow contributor. Name of contribution: latexmk Author's name: John Collins Location on CTAN: support/latexmk Summary description: Automated running of latex and related programs ("latex make") License type: gpl Announcement text given by the contribution's author: - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a .dvi, .ps, .pdf or hardcopy version of the document. An important feature is its "preview continuous mode", where it watches all of the source files (primary file and included TeX and graphics files), and reruns LaTeX etc whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can have an updated display whenever the source files change. The current version (3.04) has many improvements over previous versions. Apart from bug fixes: 1. The method for determining how many times to rerun latex is now correct in all normal situations. 2. The determination of the dependencies is greatly improved. 3. Pdf files can be made. 4. Improvements to correspond to current versions of LaTeX and associated software have been made. 5. License is GPL (with agreement of previous authors). Previous version (v. 2) is in a subdirectory. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------

latexmk – Fully automated document generation

Latexmk completely automates the process of generating a document. Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a .dvi, .ps, .pdf or hardcopy version of the document.

An important feature is the “preview continuous mode”, where the script watches all of the source files (primary file and included and graphics files), and reruns , etc., whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can offer a display of the document’s latest state.
