This is a re-implementation of the braids package as a TikZ library using TikZ pics. The original package (braids.sty) is included for backwards compatibility. The capability is also extended with more style keys, more flexible "floors", and other improvements such as the ability to cross non-neighbouring strands.

braids – Draw braid diagrams with PGF/TikZ
The package enables drawing of braid diagrams with PGF/TikZ using a simple syntax. The braid itself is specified by giving a word in the braid group, and there are many options for styling the strands and for drawing “floors”.
