Ray­mond Juillerat sub­mit­ted an up­date to the e-french pack­age. Ver­sion num­ber: 6.01 Li­cense type: lp­pl1.3 Sum­mary de­scrip­tion: Com­pre­hen­sive LaTeX sup­port for French-lan­guage type­set­ting An­nounce­ment text:
Changes from ver­sion 6.0 A: up­date of french.sty, tak­ing in ac­count that only ger­man and en­glish can be com­bined with french.sty, us­ing the mlp pack­age, and no other lan­guage. B: it was nec­es­sary to take in ac­count the fact that eTeX de­fines 16-bits coun­ters. C: In ad­di­tion to that lit­tle up­dates the test files (tor­ture) have been adapted to the last de­vel­op­ments of TeX and LaTeX.

e-french – Com­pre­hen­sive sup­port for French-lan­guage type­set­ting

E-french is a dis­tri­bu­tion that keeps alive the work of Bernard Gaulle (now de­ceased), un­der a free li­cence.

It re­places the the old “full” french­pro (the “pro­fes­sional” dis­tri­bu­tion) and the light-weight frenchle pack­ages.
