for once, i was awake and able to work when the daemon cried: > Name of contribution: latexmk > Author's name: John Collins > Package version: 4.28 > Location on CTAN: support/latexmk/ > Summary description: Fully automated LaTeX document generation routine > License type: gpl > > Announcement text given by the package's contributor: > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > Correct handling of situations where some file(s) needed by bibtex (or > biber) don't exist. Previously latexmk incorrectly stopped with an > error message instead of continuing. thanks for the upload; i've installed the new version, and updated the catalogue repository. > Users may view the package catalogue entry at > http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/latexmk.html > or they may browse the package directory at > http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/support/latexmk/ The catalogue entry will change (somewhat) overnight tonight. latexmk – Fully automated document generation

Latexmk completely automates the process of generating a document. Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a .dvi, .ps, .pdf or hardcopy version of the document.

An important feature is the “preview continuous mode”, where the script watches all of the source files (primary file and included and graphics files), and reruns , etc., whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can offer a display of the document’s latest state.
