Date: January 19, 2017 7:05:55 PM CET
John Collins submitted an update to the latexmk package. Version: 4.52 2017-01-17 License: gpl2 Summary description: Fully automated LaTeX document generation Announcement text:
Changes for version 4.52: 1. Optimize number of calls to kpsewhich. This occasionally gives large savings in run time. 2. Fix bug that if an .aux file is deleted and then latexmk is run, the wrong number of runs of (pdf)latex was made. 3. Implement direct support for XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX. 4. For XeLaTeX, generate pdf file via xdv file and xdvipdfmx; this often gives much better run time for documents containing large graphics files. 4. Correct detection for missing graphics files with XeLaTeX. 5. Work around LuaTeX line-wrapping bug in .log file. 6. Update documentation. 7. Improvements in code and diagnostics. Changes for version 4.52b: Fix bug introduced in 4.52 that use of bibtex wasn't always detected when recorder mode is on.

latexmk – Fully automated document generation

Latexmk completely automates the process of generating a document. Given the source files for a document, latexmk issues the appropriate sequence of commands to generate a .dvi, .ps, .pdf or hardcopy version of the document.

An important feature is the “preview continuous mode”, where the script watches all of the source files (primary file and included and graphics files), and reruns , etc., whenever a source file has changed. Thus a previewer can offer a display of the document’s latest state.
