The package contains the necessary files to use free chess fonts from www.enpassant.dk with LaTeX/TeX. For some of the fonts the needed pfb-file is also part of the package. For others the pfb must be made from the original ttf. Instructions about the conversion and the use of the font can be found in the documentation of chessfss.

chess – Fonts for typesetting chess boards
The original (and now somewhat dated) TeX chess font package.
Potential users should consider skak (for alternative fonts, and notation support), texmate (for alternative notation support), or chessfss (for flexible font choices).
