Date: June 15, 2006 9:20:03 AM CEST
A new package has been installed at tug.ctan.org and should soon be at your favorite mirror. Thanks again, Jim Hefferon St Michael's College ====================================================================== The following information was provided by the package's contributor. Name of contribution: Orderer Author's name: M. Siddikov Location on CTAN: /support/orderer Summary description: Order references in TeX file License type: lppl Announcement text given by the package's contributor:
The script re-orders references in the .tex file (in the order as they appear in the text). This is REQUIRED by most of the journals, this is TEDIOUS to do manually (in average each article contains ~50 citations) and unfortunately none of the LateXs which I know can do this job. The script is written in Perl (pre-installed on most Linux OS), but can be easily rewritten in other languages.
See this package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/support/orderer . You may get a better network connection by using a CTAN mirror near to you; see http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors . Our service is supported by the TeX Users Group http://www.tug.org . Please join a users group; see http://www.tug.org/usergroups.html .

Orderer – Order references in a file

Orderer is a small Perl script that will take a document and re-order the references in it. This saves the user from building a database.
