# CTAN update: nicematrix

Date: May 28, 2020 5:48:49 PM CEST
François Pantigny submitted an update to the nicematrix package. Version number: 4.1 2020-05-27 License type: lppl1.3 Summary description: Improve the typesetting of mathematical matrices with PGF Announcement text:
New options 'cell-space-top-limit' and 'cell-space-bottom-limit' (inspired by the package 'cellspace'). New command '\diagbox' The key 'hvlines' now draws all the vertical and horizontal rules *excepted* in the blocks (created by '\Block') and in the virtual blocks corresponding to the dotted lines (drawn by '\Cdots', '\Vdots', etc.) Creation of PGF/Tikz nodes corresponding to the position of the rules, called 'row-1', 'row-2', etc. and 'col-1', 'col-2', etc. These nodes are accessible in the 'code-before' and in the 'code-after'.
Thanks for the upload. For the CTAN Team Manfred Lotz CTAN is run entirely by volunteers and supported by TeX user groups. Please join a user group or donate to one, see https://ctan.org/lugs .

## nicematrix – Improve the typesetting of mathematical matrices with PGF

This package provides new environments similar to the environments matrix, pmatrix, bmatrix, etc. of amsmath and mathtools.

In these new environments, a PGF node is created for each cell of the matrix.

The user can use these nodes directly but nicematrix also provides commands which use these nodes to draw continuous dotted lines from two cells of the matrix (the result is more aesthetic than the classical result obtained using \cdots, \vdots, \ddots, etc.).

This package also provides a control over the width of the columns and the possibility to add an exterior line and an exterior column.

nicematrix requires and loads amsmath, array, expl3, l3keys2e, xparse, pgf, as well as the TikZ library fit.
