CTAN update: etoc

Date: May 1, 2023 9:40:41 PM CEST
Jean-François Burnol submitted an update to the etoc package. Version number: 1.2a 2023-05-01 License type: lppl1.3c Summary description: Completely customisable TOCs Announcement text:
- Drop the requirement, which was added at 1.1a, of a LaTeX kernel at least as recent as 2020-10-01. - Drop the requirement, which was added at 1.2, of availability of the \expanded primitive. So etoc 1.2a should work on old LaTeX installations; mind that it has been only minimally retro-tested. - "deeplevels" boolean option: adapted from a patch courtesy of Matthew Trescott in the context of the Doxygen project (cf PR doxygen#9936). Thanks! With this option, available numerical levels range from -1 (usually assigned to `part'; or -2 for memoir `book' sectioning) up to 12 rather than up to 6. Refer to PDF documentation for the 1.2a change log entry details. Also, an important feature of the 1.2 **experimental** addition \locallistof{figures,tables} has been documented in their devoted PDF section.
This package is located at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/latex/contrib/etoc More information is at https://www.ctan.org/pkg/etoc CTAN is run entirely by volunteers and supported by TeX user groups Please join a user group or donate to one, see https://ctan.org/lugs
Thanks for the upload. -- For the CTAN Team Ina Dau

etoc – Completely customisable TOCs

With etoc loaded, \tableofcontents can be used multiple times, and an added command \localtableofcontents allows to typeset “local” tables of contents, i.e. TOCs having their scope limited to the last sectioning command encountered. Since release 1.2, also \locallistoffigures and \locallistoftables are available.

Loading etoc per itself does not modify the “contents lines” inherited from the class default or changed via other packages. But full usage of the package allows spectacular effects such as displaying TOCs as trees or mind maps.
