Date: May 26, 2007 5:59:43 PM CEST
A new package has been installed on tug.ctan.org and should soon be at your favorite mirror. Thank you, Jim Hefferon Saint Michael's College ........................................................................ The following information was provided by our fellow contributor: Name of contribution: cleveref Author's name: Toby Cubitt Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/cleveref/ Summary description: Automatic cross-reference formatting. License type: lppl Announcement text:
The cleveref package enhances LaTeX's cross-referencing features, allowing the format of references to be determined automatically according to the type of label being referred to (equation, section, etc.). The formatting for each reference type can be fully customised in the preamble of your document. In addition, cleveref can typeset references to lists of multiple labels, automatically formatting them according to their type, and collapsing sequences of numerically onsecutive labels to a reference range. Again, the multiple-reference formatting is fully customisable.
This package is located at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/cleveref/ . More information is at http://tug.ctan.org/cgi-bin/ctanPackageInformation.py?id=cleveref (if the package is new it may take a day for that information to appear). cleveref – Intelligent cross-referencing

The package enhances ’s cross-referencing features, allowing the format of references to be determined automatically according to the type of reference. The formats used may be customised in the preamble of a document; babel support is available (though the choice of languages remains limited: currently Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Russian, Spanish and Ukranian).

The package also offers a means of referencing a list of references, each formatted according to its type. In such lists, it can collapse sequences of numerically-consecutive labels to a reference range.
