More and im­proved macro han­dling rules and bet­ter fea­tures for adding new rules, in­clud­ing rules for count­ing macro op­tions. More cus­tomis­able word count­ing and re­port­ing, al­low­ing the user to add new coun­ters, spec­ify the ver­bose out­put in de­tail, and use cus­tom made tem­plates.

count – Count words in a doc­u­ment

count is a Perl script that counts words in the text of files. It has rules for han­dling most of the com­mon macros, and can pro­vide colour-coded out­put show­ing which parts of the text have been counted.
